Oh Ma Gash,
Longest. Day. Ever.
And I feel like being dramatic, so bear with me.
I remembered to take pictures of everything I ate today though, so that is very encouraging news!
I stayed up last night (not working on my memos) and hung out with some of my neighbors. We had a very entertaining conversation and I was laughing so hard. However, I didn't fall asleep until almost 2AM and woke up to my roommates alarm blasting at 6:30AM. I didn't have to be up for another hour, but I couldn't fall back alseep so I made some stronggggg coffee and got to cooking some awesome oatmeal! I had that coffee cup times 2 and was shaking by the time I got to class. Whoopsy. My 1/3 cup of oatmeal contained the last of my chia seeds (OH NO!), egg whites, and 1 cup of water. I also mixed in 1/2 of Justin's PB and added a bunch of cinnamon on top. Mmmmmm. Because I had such a hot breakfast, I broke my first sweat by 8AM. Not cool. All I was trying to do was pack up some snacks for the day! :( For clarifications sake, I packed 2 bars because I couldn't decide which one I would want, and I didn't end up eating either!
As much as today is the longest day ever, our class this morning/afternoon was really cool! We did a simulation of the Six Party Talks with North Korea where each student represented a different country. We had a specific set of negotiating tactics and points were assigned to each outcome. Every country had to stay within a certain number of points for the talks to be successful. I was randomly assigned to be the United States and I must say, the simulation gave me a whole new perspective of how challenging it must be to actually do this in real life. I did pretty well overall. I succeeded in having the US come out neutral, but I did cost us $16 billion dollars. Oopsy ;)
The organization that hosted the simulation served us lunch and actually provided a vegetarian option! I was really hungry by that point, and I knew a bar and fruit was not going to cut it. So I ate 2 of these veggie sandwiches alongside my grapes instead of chips! I also spotted the coldest, crispest (not a word??) looking Diet Coke from across the room that was actually screaming my name.
Although I have not had a Diet Coke in more than 3 months (because they are stuffed full of chemicals and I can't justify drinking it when I eat so clean), I just really wanted it today. So I drank it. And split this cookie with my roommate! Between the caffeine and the sugar, I could not stop fidgeting all afternoon! I sat through two very dry speakers between 2 and 5PM and I am pretty sure I could not sit still the entire time!
I came home sweaty and tired. It was so muggy in DC today, and my internal body temperature is abnormal to begin with, so the combination destroyed me. Post scrub-a-dub-dub, I was hannngry. Since I have class AGAIN tonight (because it was canceled on Tuesday), dinner had to be quick. I heated up the leftovers from last nights veggie fest and added some microwaved brown rice. Easy Peasy. Then, I heated up a black bean veggie burger and smothered a Laughing Cow wedge on top. Very satisfying. Oh, and don't be fooled by the photos because I doused both in ketchup! NOM.
I think by now we all know I am not one to deny my sweet tooth, so I had dessert before I left for class. Grahams, Dark Chocolate Dreams, and ice cream. YEAAA BUDDY.
I am off to try and pay attention in class as I think I am drawing attention to myself because I type so loud!

P.S. My midterm memos just got postponed until after spring break. I LOVE THIS SEMESTER. See ya!
Yums I could go for some ice cream! I think all of your eats look super healthy and sometimes a girl wants a diet coke =) and it's okay lol
